Michael Latham joined The Service Companies as Chairman & CEO in July 2018. He has over 22 years of experience in the facility services industry. Prior to joining The Service Companies, Michael founded MCR Facility Services and was President of both the Engineering and Facility Services companies for ABM Industries, where he was responsible for significant organic growth and strategic initiatives such as: safety strategies and improvements, sustainability, business development strategies, and utilizing technology to enhance client outcomes. Prior experience includes successful executive roles with Ford Land, Aramark Corporation and ISS Facility Services. Well versed in the Six Sigma process, Michael is Green Belt certified and has been directly involved in numerous Black Belt projects. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Louisville.
Patricia Fonseca joined The Service Companies in June 2011 as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller. She was promoted to Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis in May 2017 and to her current role as Chief Financial Officer in February 2019. Prior to joining The Service Companies, Patricia worked for Springs Global US, a leading home furnishings supplier to major retailers throughout North America based in South Carolina. Before this, she spent nine years with Ernst & Young, BDO Seidman and Deloitte & Touche in the United States, Brazil and Australia. She worked in the audit function, financial advisory and consulting services and mergers and acquisitions areas of the three firms. Patricia has her CPA as well as an MBA in Finance.
Kurt Wong joined The Service Companies in 2009 after over 21 years of senior leadership positions in the hotel and gaming industry, with Hilton Hotels and Caesars Entertainment. He joined the company as Vice President of Operations and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations in 2012, and Chief Operating Officer in 2015, where he oversaw the overall operations of the company. In October 2018, Kurt was appointed Chief Experience Officer, responsible for sales, business development and client relationships.
Dan Best joined The Service Companies in November 2019 as Chief Human Resources Officer. With nearly 20 years of Human Resources experience, Dan leads the development and execution of the company’s human resources strategy. Prior to joining The Service Companies, Dan spent nearly 7 years with AutoNation, America’s largest automotive retailer that operates in 16 states and employs 27,000 associates. Prior to AutoNation, Dan held Human Resources leadership roles with Bloomin’ Brands, Inc. and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Dan holds his BSBA, Human Resource Management degree from Robert Morris University, a certificate in Leading Teams from Cornell University, and completed the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program at the University of Michigan. He is a certified Human Resource professional holding his PHR and SHRM-CP.
John Thiesfeld joined The Service Companies in July, 2009. He most recently ran a hospitality asset management firm, primarily focused on driving revenue and NOI growth at large luxury hotel and resort properties. Prior to asset management, John enjoyed a distinguished 25 year career in hospitality sales and marketing. Within that tenure, John spent nearly 17 years with Hyatt Hotels Corporation progressing from on-property sales leadership to Vice President of sales, revenue and marketing operations for some of Hyatt’s largest and most profitable regions.
Victor Lopez has a distinguished 35 years of experience in all facets of hotel development and operation, including a 30 year career at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, most recently as senior vice president for development and field operations specializing in the Caribbean and Latin America. In his leadership roles at Hyatt, he oversaw the operations of 32 properties from South America to Hawaii, including all resort properties in North America. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Camp Hyatt, Spa Hyatt, Golf Hyatt and learning vacation programs, as well as the gaming operations attached to Hyatt Resorts.
Marc Caplan joined Acrobat Outsourcing in 2011 as the Vice President of Sales, and joined The Service Companies in 2015 following Acrobat Outsourcing’s acquisition. In 2019 he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Acrobat Outsourcing, which was rebranded to The Service Companies’ Hospitality Services division. He oversees the division in his current role. Previously Marc held various roles in the hospitality industry, including Restaurant Manager, General Manager, and Account Executive, and leadership roles at Aramark Corporation and Micros Systems. He was also a three-time nominee of Walt Disney World®‘s prestigious Partners in Excellence award. Marc holds his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Business, Hotel and Restaurant Management from Michigan State University.
Cornel Sneekes joined The Service Companies in July 2018 as the Senior Vice President of the company’s Engineering Services segment. He began his career in the engineering services industry in March of 1981 and since that time has held key executive positions at ABM, ABLE and ISS. Cornel has been directly responsible for the operation and maintenance of facility systems, staffing, labor relations, contract development and delivery of services for data centers, class “A” high-rise, industrial, hotels, medical, retail and truck route services. Cornel holds a General “B” Contractors license with the State of California, unlimited steam license with the city of Los Angeles, Certification with I.U.O.E. Local 501 and is a Director on the Board of PCRF. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
